Frequently asked questions
Can't find your question here? Feel free to call or email.
Does my business need to comply with the GDPR?
Almost always, yes. The GDPR applies to every organisation that processes personal data, large or small. Think of customer data, employee data or a mailing list.
What is a privacy scan?
With a privacy scan, I map which personal data you process, how your processes work and what documentation is in place. The scan shows what is missing and what still needs to be done, after which I support you in adjusting your processes.
What is the difference between a privacy statement and a privacy policy?
A privacy statement is intended for the people whose data you process, such as customers and website visitors. A privacy policy is an internal document that sets out how your organisation handles personal data.
When do I need a data processing agreement?
When another party processes personal data on your behalf, for example your accountant, a payroll provider or a cloud service. You record the arrangements with that party in a data processing agreement.
When is a DPIA mandatory?
A DPIA is mandatory when processing is likely to result in a high risk to the people whose data you process, for example large-scale processing of health data or large-scale camera surveillance. I can help you determine whether this applies to your situation.
What should I do in the event of a data breach?
Record what happened and assess the risk. A breach that poses a risk must be reported to the Dutch Data Protection Authority within 72 hours, and sometimes you must also inform the people affected. Feel free to contact me straight away, and we will assess it together.
Can you advise in English?
Yes. I advise in both English and Dutch, and draft documents such as privacy statements and data processing agreements in English, Dutch or both.
What does it cost?
That depends on your organisation and what is needed. Give me a call, without obligation, to discuss the options, and you will receive a clear quote in advance.
Not sure where to start?
Give me a call to discuss the options, without any obligation, or start with a privacy scan. It shows where you stand today and what is needed to make your processes privacy-friendly.
