About me
I am Madeleine, a legal professional and privacy adviser, and the founder of R8privacy. Since graduating from the University of Groningen in 2021, I have worked at the intersection of privacy, data protection and information security.
My interest in this field began during my studies. During my LLB and my master's in International Commercial Law at the University of Groningen, I focused on data-driven work and the role of personal data in a commercial world: how organisations create value from data while protecting the people behind it.
I have gained experience on two sides. As a privacy adviser in government, I advise on privacy, data protection and information security, in an environment where care and accountability are central. As a consultant, I have helped smaller businesses apply the GDPR and privacy legislation in practice, with solutions that fit their organisation and day-to-day work.
That combination is the foundation of R8privacy. In my view, privacy does not have to be complicated or needlessly legalistic. I translate rules and risks into what they concretely mean for your organisation, in plain language and with solutions that fit the way you work. That way, privacy, data protection and information security become a natural part of your daily practice rather than a paperwork obligation.
